Florals

Last week the chinese lanterns glowed brightly beneath the dusting of snow. (December 2007)

Flowering Kale catching the first snow of the season. December 1, 2007

Canterbury Bells are one of my favorite flowers. I love the way light dances across their interesting shapes. These were in my garden in June, 2007.
|
Another favorite, the yellow rose, is also the happy color I chose for our wedding.

Architecture

On this trip to the islands, I painted this view of Lime Kiln Point Lighthouse while my husband, John, explored the point and snapped this photo.

The Lutheran Church in Conway is one of the most painted landmarks around these parts. I managed to catch it one summer evening when the sun was going down. The photograph doesn't begin to capture the glow of the light streaming though the windows.

My husband and daughter built this birdhouse in front of our house. It made a lovely picture with the roses covered in snow.

The colors of the kayaks and water were stunning on this sunny day.

Everyone needs a reference photo of a water splash, even if it is just to marvel at the way water works.
|
Tree shapes intrigue me. The lights and darks... well, just look!
